Advisory patronage of enhancing the European integration policy and legal approximation in Ukraine

Our overall objective is to support the implementation of the Partnership and Co-operation Agreement, the EU-Ukraine Association Agenda  and the envisaged Association Agreement, as well as to support the policy dialogue.

UEPLAC shall further pursue the following missions:

• enhancing Ukrainian capacity in terms of implementation of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement which will replace the PCA currently in force;
• continuing proper prioritisation of the legal approximation work in Ukraine;
• assisting Ukraine in approximation of its legislation to the EU law in all areas foreseen by the PCA (future Association Agreement) and the Association Agenda;
• strengthening the Ukrainian policy-making and legislative process in conformity with Ukraine’s EU integration objectives through appropriate co-ordination mechanisms and instruments;
• building up the Ukrainian capacity in understanding and being able to implement the process of approximating Ukrainian legislation to the EU legislation, including secondary legislation and implementation measures.

The Co-ordination Bureau for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration at the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine

Recipients:

•  the Secretariat of Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine;
•  the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine;
•  the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine;
•  the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee for European Integration Issues;
•  the Main Department of Civil Service of Ukraine;
•  other line ministries, agencies, organisations and training institutions for civil servants.

UEPLAC V started fulfilling its tasks in August 2009 and will be acting until July 2011.
