UEPLAC organised the five-day judicial training

According to the request of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, UEPLAC in co-operation with the Permanent Bureau of the Hague Conference on International Private Law organised a five-day judicial training on the practical implementation of the Hague Convention on the civil aspects of international child abduction and the Hague Convention on the protection of children for the key judges involved in cases referring to the 1980 Convention and the MoJ representative. The request moved from the fact that the judiciary still has a not clear understanding of the functioning and scope of the Convention. A total of 6 professionals (5 judges and 1 representative of the MoJ) took part in the training on 29 June – 3 July, 2009 in the Hague, Netherlands, which also included meetings with the representative of Dutch Central Authority, Dutch liaison judge, German family judge as well as with staff of the Permanent Bureau of the Hague Conference.
